CM PUNK BEING EYED FOR WWF DEVELOPMENT?
Updated: Apr 10, 2021
Rumours are circulating that indie wrestler CM Punk is being considered for a developmental contract with the World Wrestling Federation.
Though his time in indie promotions around the United States has been short, Punk may well be on the WWF radar as the company looks to invest in future talent.
The early success of Ohio Valley Wrestling - run by Jim Cornette and Danny Davis - as a WWF developmental camp is promising and the promotion could certainly make use of hopeful prospects like Punk.
OVW has proven an effective rehab of sorts for main event talent also. The Big Show recently completed a stint at the promotion after being sent there over weight concerns. Show got himself into great ring shape and has made a return to WWF television. Mark Henry, another big man, is currently still working at OVW.
If Punk does make the move to OVW, he will join the likes of Rico Constantino, Randy Orton, Leviathan and the Minnesota Stretching Crew.
