ROB VAN DAM SAYS 'WHATEVER' TO WWF
Updated: Jan 18, 2022
With ECW done and dusted, speculation is rife over the future of its stars. One of the breakout players of the promotion - Rob Van Dam - is now a free agent. We have received word that New Japan Pro Wrestling are interested in snapping up the star, potentially seeing his explosive and unique offence as a good fit for the puro style. However, a WWF deal may likely be on the cards - a deal which would see RVD joining other ECW alumni like Tazz, Raven and The Dudley Boyz.
We spoke to Rob about his future in professional wrestling and he gave the following statement:
'I don't know what is on the cards for me, but I have been in talks with more than one promotion. Going to Japan would be cool and I am definitely interested in that prospect, but I am not committing to anything right now. I'm talking to companies, but nothing is for sure. As for the WWF - whatever. If I get an offer, I get an offer. But right now, I am just trying to make sure that the end of ECW doesn't stall Rob Van Dam's career. I don't want to sit on the sidelines and wait for an opportunity - I want to be out there making my own.'
